The little brother of the No. 3 - a modern version of the original Stanley No. 97 Cabinet makers edge plane, which was designed for cleanup or trim inside work, where the space is limited and the use of any other plane is difficult.
This a special purpose plane, useful for cleaning into the corners of stopped rebates, trimming semi-dry glue squeeze out, cutting drips and runs from finishes between coats and it's size lends itself to working in very tight spaces.
